Thank you, all the distinguished guests, participants and experts.
It is my pleasure to attend such an important symposium on Myanmar-China
relations and other matters. I have found the symposium very wonderful. I have
attended the similar symposium in Hong Kong University 2 years ago, but this
symposium is very significant because of the following reasons.
The 1st
thing is that we have the fair share in 3 groups, who are from Myanmar, China and the
international community. We have seen various perspectives of relations between
Myanmar and China from these groups.
The 2nd thing is that in this symposium
many participants from different societies and we have chances to participant
and discuss very friendly, so some of our controversial issues for
China-Myanmar relations can be discussed in this symposium. And we have
opportunities to hear different views from different speakers, which is very
important for us, so we can have more dimensional perspectives and ideas, which
can support scholars and policy makers to reset and restart how to better our
relations between Myanmar and China, and how Myanmar should make its foreign
policies.
The last
thing I must appreciate of the symposium is that Professor Li Chengyang
provides us an opportunity for Myanmar studies between Yunnan Universities and Yangon
Universities. The people presented in this symposium are quite supportive to
what we are coming to do, and we hope we can do more comprehensive and more
effective policy communications on the relations between our two countries. I
would like to express my heartful thanks goes to co organizers like Yunnan
University, Center of Myanmar Studies, the Charhar Institute and Hong Kong University, as well as
Department of International Relations of Yangon University for the
success of such kind of significant symposium. I am looking forward to seeing
you again in Myanmar nest year.
Thank you!
