Zhang Ping
Mr. Zhang Ping was born in Jiangsu Province, China in August, 1962.
He joined the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs ( CPIFA) in
September 2011. Prior to that, he had worked at Chinese Embassy in the United
States of America from 2006 to 2011 as Counselor and Minister Counselor for
congressional affairs.
Mr. Zhang also served in several other overseas postings since mid 1980s.
He was Counselor for political affairs in Chinese Embassy in Australia from 2000
to 2004. From 1992 to 1996, he was the Vice Consul and Consul in Chinese
Consulate General in New York. He also served in Chinese Embassy in Viet Nam as
Attache from 1985 to 1986.
Mr.Zhang has held different positions as Deputy Division Chief, Division
Chief and Counselor in the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of
Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in late 1990s and mid 2000s.
Mr. Zhang graduated in 1985 from Beijing Foreign Affairs College, majoring
in international relations. He also attended a training program in New Plymouth
of New Zealand in 1990
Wang Yiwei
Dr. Wang Yiwei is currently Distinguished Professor of Renmin University of
China, Director of China-Europe Academic Network (CEAN). He is also senior
research fellow of the Charhar Institute (adjunct) and Contract Research Fellow
of China Center for Contemporary World Studies at International Department of
CPC. He was a former diplomat at Chinese Mission to the European Union
(2008-2011) and professor of Center for American Studies at Fudan University
(2001-2008), Adjunct Deputy Director of Department of American Studies of
Shanghai Institute for International Studies (SIIS, 2004) and Fox Fellow of Yale
Center for International and Area Studies (2000-2001), Korea Foundation-Yonsei
Distinguished Visiting Professor at Graduate School of International Studies of
Yonsei University (2005). He holds a Ph.D. in international relations from Fudan
University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering from
East China University of Science and Technology.

Liu Chen
Associate professor, director of the Center of Intercultural Studies,
School of English and International Studies, Beijing Foreign Studies
University
Dr. Liu Chen is a recognized expert in analyzing the theories, strategies
and practice of intercultural communication, with specialty in China and Asian
countries. She won the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University
of Ministry of Education of China that is a national academic award for
distinguished young scholars in China.
Her work primarily covers intercultural perceptions and influences of
cultural imaging inside and outside a country’s borders, with emphasis on
China’s regional and international influences on globalization. Dr. Liu Chen is
the project manager of a couple of national-level projects and her project
reports for the central government of China were all well received.
In recognition of her work, she is often invited to give lectures for
Xinhua News Agency, Hong Kong University and Embassy of India to China and so
on. She has worked as a Research Fellow in Australia, Hong Kong and the UK. As
well, Dr. Liu Chen is a Manuscript Reviewer for the Journal of Intercultural
Studies, published by the International Association for Intercultural Studies
(IAICS).
In China, she has been invited to work as consultant for the Central
Government of China such as Ministry of Education of China and State Council
Information Office etc. Also, she is the Executive Director of China Association
for Intercultural Communication Studies (CAFICS), Executive Director of China
University Association for Film and Television Studies, Consultant of China
Education Association for International Exchange. At Beijing Foreign Studies
University (BFSU), she serves as Director of the Centre for Intercultural
Studies.
Ke YinBin
Mr. Ke YinBin, Secretary General of Charhar Institute
Ke Yinbin is the Secretary General of The Charhar Institute, the Deputy
Director of Public Diplomacy Quarterly Editorial Department, CPPCC’s Foreign
Affair Committee. He is also the Member of Council of China National Association
for International Studies, the Deputy Director of World Chinese Business
Research Center, Institute of World economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of
Social Sciences, and the Adjunct Professor of Center for China Mergers and
Acquisitions Research, Beijing Jiaotong University. He has published 9 books and
more than150 papers. His current research focuses on following fields: Corporate
Strategy, Multinational Company, and Corporate Public Diplomacy.
